Question about DSLR film scanning lenses

Should I invest in a dedicated macro lens or only spend $10 on a set of extension tubes and use either the 50mm or 85mm lenses I already have? If getting a dedicated lens is the best option, what focal length do you recommend? My DSLR is Nikon D600. Thanks.
